An absolute must-read book for any entrepreneur. It's an inspiring, candid account about what it takes to lead through the turn and provides very practical advice about navigating any terrain you may encounter. Elise is a wonderful, sincere author.
As a driven leader, this is exactly what I needed to read. I spent years believing that in order to achieve my goals I had to give everything else up along the way. Elise thinks otherwise and shares practical guidance of how to avoid that mindset so we can achieve our goals while also having a life! Honestly, I wish more leaders would talk about the challenges and pursuits addressed in this book. If so, we would all feel the freedom to pursue our goals with more joy. Great book and an absolute ‘must-read’ for any achievement addict.
No matter where we are in our life or leadership journey, Elise's book inspires the reader to enjoy the present. Leadership in any role is an experience and an achievement, and the book reminds us that significance is often about how we inspire others and give ourselves to them. On the road to any destination, we over focus on the end-in-mind and have a tendency to "speed" down the road to get there, Elise vividly illustrates the blessings we experience when we slow down, admire the details, and have a spirit of giving. An excellent and meaningful; yet, light read for anyone and any level of leader!
Excellent Book on Leadership. Women rarely have the insight of a fellow women executive. This well written piece is something that most women discuss in circles of friends but not with collegues. Great advice to "enjoy" the journey. Otherwise, you may miss out on amazing opportunities to grow as a women and executive in corporate America.
Great book, well written and fun to read. I am learning so much and I feel like I am gaining insight on how I can grow my own business while maintaining close relationships with my clients. Great ideas are included to help anyone in business at any level. I enjoy the motorcycle stories and how Elise relates her personal experience of success and failures. This book has given me the motivation and the "how to" to take the next steps to develop my business and to help build a team that can also prosper.
This is a great book full of practical advice and authentic experiences - good and bad - makes it a must read for leaders - especially entrepreneurs. I especially liked the chapter on building a 'thought platform'. You will be glad you grabbed this book - it will not disappoint!
Love the energy and passion throughout this book. A true leader is one who can share those bumps and bruises along the way hoping that others can learn from the valuable insights. Elise Mitchell's story shows real-life examples of how she built her company from her kitchen table to a multi-million dollar business though hard work, passion and a humble and giving heart. Love the analogy of always looking through the turn which is a motorcycle theme for bike riders. It applies so well to the real business world, as well as personal life. And, I loved the honesty and sharing of her own personal struggles from time to time while learning how to balance her personal and work life balance. A great read!
